Joseph Millard Graybeal, Jr.

Joseph Millard Graybeal, Jr. better known as Joe age 71 of Warrensville passed away Saturday, September 14, 2019. Mr. Graybeal was born in Ashe County on Sunday, January 11, 1948 to the late Joseph Millard and Hazel Jones Graybeal. He served in the US Army during Vietnam stationed in Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas. After his time in the Army he began work at Skyline Telephone as a lineman for over 30 years before retiring.  He was a faithful member at Friendship Baptist Church and on most Sundays you would find him serving as an usher. In his spare time Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, working and being a mentor to young people. He never met a stranger and was always a friend to anyone he met.

Mr. Graybeal is survived by: his wife, Geneva Eldreth Graybeal, one daughter, Lisa Renee Holman and husband Dean of West Jefferson, one grandson, Evan Holman and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 12:30 pm at Friendship Baptist Church by Rev. Tom Graybeal and Rev. Ken Jones. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites. The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:30 pm prior to the service at the church.
