Joseph William Jordan, better known as Bill, age 87 of Jefferson died on Friday, April 29, 2016 as Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mr. Jordan was born in Wilkes County on August 3, 1928 to Ira Thomas and Mary Drewcilla Kimberlin Jordan. Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Lloyd, two sisters, Dorothy and Barbara. Bill enjoyed the sport of bowling. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Scottsville Baptist Church. The family would like to express their gratitude to Shelly Church and the whole Medi Home Hospice team.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 2, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Pastor Tim Roten. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm prior to the service at Ashelawn.
Mr. Jordan is survived by: his wife, Ennice Jordan, three sons, James Grogan and wife Shirley and Stephen Grogan and wife Jennifer both of Jefferson, and Bruce Jordan of Statesville, two daughters, Lorretta Wood of Statesville and Kathy Hermens of Oregon, four brothers, Glenn, Leonard, Jimmy, and Carroll Jordan, one sister, Betty Sue, also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to, Medi Home Hospice, PO Box 421, Jefferson, NC 28640.
