Joyce Arales

Joyce Faw Arales, age 89 of Portsmouth, VA died Thursday, December 18, 2003 in Norfolk, VA.
A native of West Jefferson, NC, Mrs. Arales was the daughter of the late Raynor and Charity Evaline Faw and the widow of Albert R. Faw and Stephen T. Arales. She was a member of the Court Street Baptist Church and the Portsmouth Music Study Club.
She is survived by her daughter, Clara Faw Allen and her husband Carl E. Allen of Norfolk, VA; sister , Mrs. Frankie Anderson; a cousin Belle McNeil, both of West Jefferson, NC; four grandchildren, Darlene E. Reynolds of Richmond, VA, Connie Smith, Gray Faw and Jeff Faw, all of Portsmouth, VA; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Bowie B. Faw.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. at the North Beaver Baptist Church. Rev. John Crawford will officiate. The burial will follow in the Calloway Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, December 22, 2003 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel and Gardens.
