Joyce Reed

Joyce Reed, age 65 of Laurel Springs, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022 at her home.  Joyce was born September 23, 1956 in Charlotte, NC to the late John and Betty Sue Seagle Triece.   She was a member of New Haven Covenant Brethren Church and was very dedicated to her church family. She volunteered her time to clean and take care of the church.  She was known as “Mama’s Taxi”, always getting her grandchildren to wherever they needed to be.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, August 22, 2022 at New Haven Covenant Brethren Church in Sparta by Rev. Gary Edwards. Burial will follow in the Reed-McMillian Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 pm prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Reed is survived by her husband, Bobby Reed,  daughters, Dana Tracey of West Jefferson and Cassie Mahala (Nicholas) of Laurel Springs, sisters, Pamela Rhynes of Charlotte and Frankie Bogutsky of Charlotte,  grandchildren, Adrianna Shinault (Jason), Dustin Billings, Cora Billings, Luke Tracey and Colin Tracey, and great-grandchild, Aurora Shinault. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
