Mrs. Kate Kilby Campbell, age 93, of West Jefferson died Saturday, May 22nd at the Margate Health and Rehab Center. Mrs. Campbell was born March 28, 1917 in the Lansing community to Gaither Ezra and Ennice Mae Moran Kilby. She was married to Samuel Wiley Campbell. Mrs. Campbell was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of West Jefferson for 60 years. She was involved in many activities of the church. She was loyal employee of Thomasville Industries where she faithfully served for 30 years. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, loving grandmother and a generous and kind friend to many. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11:00 at the First Baptist Church in West Jefferson by the Rev. Ken Morris and the Rev. Michael Lea. The Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Midway Cemetery. Mrs. Campbell is survived by one daughter: Mary Worley of West Jefferson and one daughter-in-law, Karen Neaves Campbell of West Jefferson, one sister, Mae Redfield of Clemmons, NC. Nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents and husband Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by one daughter: Virginia Campbell Goodman and one son, Roger Campbell.
