Kenneth Vaughn Cooper age 70 of Warrensville died Friday, September 21, 2018 at his home. He was born on Thursday, October 23, 1947 in Ashe County to Carl C. and Agnes Severt Cooper. Including his parents he was preceded in death by, one brother, Keith Cooper. He married the former Karen Pennington on September 26, 1970. Kenneth served in the US Airforce from 1970-1974. They moved back to Ashe County in 1974 and worked for the Ashe County Board of Education until his retirement in the early 2000’s. He loved music especially bluegrass and enjoyed playing the guitar and piano. His hobbies included golf and tennis. He was a member of Jefferson United Methodist Church. One of his and Karen’s happiest moments was when they adopted their son, Scott and then arrival of their grandchildren.

Mr. Cooper is survived by: his wife, Karen Pennington Cooper, one son, Scott Cooper and wife Louise of Wilmington, two grandchildren, Caitlyn and John David Cooper, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 which would have been their 48th wedding anniversary, at 11:00 am at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor David Lawrence. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
