Lena Hogue

Lena Grace Taylor Hogue, age 60 of Jefferson, NC, died Sunday at her home. Ms. Hogue was born September 3, 1942 in Ashe County to the late Robert and Sessie Taylor. She was also preceded in death by four brothers; Buck, Shubie, Lynn and Fred Taylor. She was a very loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed singing gospel music with her brothers and family. She was known as a charitable and giving person. She loved to cook and had worked in a restaurant for many years.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. John Crawford, Rev. Billy Joe Blevins and Minister Harry Osborne will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 till 2:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Scott-Blevins Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, or to the family c/o Linda Craven 287 Wyatt Lane, West Jefferson, NC 28694.

Ms. Hogue is survived by:

One Daughter: Lori Neaves of Jefferson

Four Brothers: Gwyn and Ed Taylor both of West Jefferson, Jack and Doug Taylor both of Jefferson

Grandchildren: Jacob Hamilton and Tanner Neaves

Several nieces and nephews also survive.
