Lenna Raye (Bare) Miller

Lenna Raye Miller, age 84 of West Jefferson, passed away Monday, September 12, 2022 at Westwood Hills Nursing and Rehab Center.  Mrs. Miller was born April 29, 1938 in Ashe County to the late Hillary and Winnie Sexton Bare.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edison Miller, son, Thomas Miller, brothers, Jimmy, Jess and Charles Bare and an infant sister.  Mrs. Miller was active in her churches, Oak Grove Methodist in Charlotte and Obids Baptist in West Jefferson.  She had a kind and gentle nature and loved spending time with her family.  She was also known as an excellent cook.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Mark Harless.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm prior to the service.  Burial will be held at North Lake Memorial Gardens at a later date.

Mrs. Miller is survived by, her daughter, Kim Houston of West Jefferson, brothers, Kenneth and Phil Bare both of Laurel Springs and grandchildren, Sarah and Mandy Miller. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
