Lessie Rachel (Blevins) Ham

Lessie Rachel Blevins Ham, age 81 of Lansing, died Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at her home.  Mrs. Ham was born March 21, 1940 in Ashe County to the late Edmond and Ocie Blevins.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Ham, son, Leroy Ham, granddaughter, Natasha Ham and all her brothers and sisters.  Lessie was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church.  She was employed at Thomasville Furniture and retired after 30 years of service. Lessie enjoyed working in her flowers, especially her roses.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, September 3, 2021 at Tuckerdale Baptist Church by Rev. Jake Testerman and Rev. Tommy Dollar.  Burial will follow in the Ham Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Ham is survived by, one daughter, Barbara Ham of the home, six sons, Tom Ham of Jefferson, Allen Ham and wife Gelene of Todd, Alfred Ham and wife Juanita of Crumpler, Larry Ham and wife Eyvone of West Jefferson, Carl Ham and wife Patsy of Lansing and Gene Ham and wife Teresa of Todd. 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
