Mrs. Lillie Perry Blevins age 81, of West Jefferson, died on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the Ashe Memorial Hospital in Jefferson. Mrs. Blevins was born on May 28, 1932 in Ashe County to Monroe and Ollie Davis Perry. Mrs. Blevins was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Elisha Blevins, son, David Blevins, daughter, Thelma Louise Blevins, two brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Blevins attended Big Ridge Community Church. She loved her Lord and Savior. Mrs. Blevins enjoyed taking boat rides, spending time with her family and her dog Mixie.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 3:00 pm at the Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Clayton Handy. Burial will follow in Perry Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
Mrs. Blevins is survived by: son, Herman Blevins of Boone, five daughters, Sue Blevins & Lorrane Blevins both of Whitetop, VA, Geneva Treadway of Creston, Juanita Perry of Jefferson, Mamie Matkins of Laurel Springs, sister, Christine Blevins of West Jefferson, her caregivers/granddaughters, Shelia Maltba, Trish Osborne also surviving are a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
