Linda Sue Miller, born on July 4, 1947, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at her home in West Jefferson on March 20, 2025. She was a dedicated educator whose passion for teaching spanned an impressive 41 years. Linda held a master's degree in education, having pursued her studies at East Tennessee State University and Appalachian State University. Her remarkable career included teaching math and science at Ashe County Middle School, where she inspired countless students with her knowledge and enthusiasm.
Linda grew up in Shady Valley, Tennessee, and was a proud graduate of Mountain City High School. Throughout her life, she exemplified the values of hard work, commitment, and compassion. Linda was not only a loving teacher but also a steadfast member of her community. A faithful Christian, she attended West Jefferson Church of Christ, where she taught Bible classes and was known affectionately as the "alto singer supreme," enriching many lives with her musical talents and spiritual guidance.

Linda's family was a source of immense pride and joy for her. She is survived by her beloved husband, Mark Miller, and her two cherished grandchildren, Kiana Rain Miller and Dannylyn Rose Miller. In addition, she is remembered fondly by her daughter-in-law, Tosha Miller, and sister-in-law, Charlotte Barry, along with several nieces and nephews who will carry her legacy forward.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Sue Blevins Barry; her son, Gregory Mark Miller; and her brother, Anthony Ray Barry. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her life was a testament to love, education, and faith, leaving an indelible mark on her family, friends, and the many students whose lives she touched.
