Linnie Blaine Finley, age 87 of Lansing died peacefully at his home, Monday, January 8, 2018. Mr. Finley was born January 17, 1930 in Grayson County, VA to the late Claude and Lucy Haga Finley. Mr. Finley was an avid collector, especially model trains and memorabilia. Linnie raised all types of water fowl including ducks, geese and chickens that he entered in shows and brought home many first place trophies. In his spare time Linnie loved visiting Grayson Highlands State Park. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Osaka, Japan. Linnie retired from BREMCO as operations manager after 29 years of service. He especially loved his family and was of strong faith. He was a member of Peace Haven Community Church.
Mr. Finley is survived by: His Wife, Edith Stuart Finley, daughter, Annette Mahaffey and husband Bob of Statesville, sisters, Vada O’Neill of Barnesville, GA and Juanita Trivette of Damascus, VA, grandson, Robert Mahaffey III, great-grandson, Benjamin Mahaffey and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Dave Adams. Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 pm at Badger Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.
