Lois (Sexton) Haga

Lois Sexton Haga passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.  She was born January 9, 1933 in Helton, North Carolina to Joseph and Nona Price Sexton.  Mrs. Haga was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Mack Haga, one sister, Christine Sexton Sparks and two brothers, Billy Denver Sexton and Richard Dwight Sexton.

She lived a good life in Helton and joined the Helton United Methodist Church in May of 1953 where she was a lifelong member.  Lois graduated from Lansing High School, May 18, 1953.  She went to Elyria, Ohio and worked there for 5 years before she came back to North Carolina and worked at Sara Lee and Hanes staring March 2, 1959.   She retired from there in 1995 after 36 years of service.  Lois married Mack Haga on March 18, 1972 and they lived together in Helton for 41 years until his death on April 12, 2013.

Mrs. Haga is survived by one sister, Geneva Blevins and husband, Jerry of Millers Creek, one brother, Ed Sexton and wife Opal of Hudson, NC.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Badger Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Shepherd officiating.  Burial will follow in the Helton Community Cemetery.  The body will lie in state from 1-2:00 pm prior to the service.
