Lorene Severt Miller

Mrs. Lorene Severt Miller, age 76 of Glendale Springs, NC, passed away Monday, November 8, 2021 at her home surrounded by family.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she will be deeply missed.

Mrs. Miller was born on August 23, 1945, in Ashe County to the late Bryce and Missouri Darnell Severt.

Mrs. Miller is survived by Steve Miller, her loving husband of 58 years; three sons, Tim Miller and wife Melanie, Terry Miller and Tracy Miller and wife Angie all of Glendale Springs.  Mrs. Miller is also survived by three grandchildren Grayson, Lane and Alex Miller, two sisters, Kathleen (Harold) Dillard of West Jefferson and Lennagail (Danny) Gambill of Hayes, one brother, Larry Severt of Jefferson and sister-in-law, Sue Severt of Glendale Springs.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas J. Severt.

A private graveside service for family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 10:00am at the Samuel Miller Memorial Cemetery in Glendale Springs with Pastor Frank Woods officiating.

Lorene was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, church, her family and her community.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking and working outdoors.  Her desire to care for others never wavered during her battle with melanoma.  She loved more than anything spending time with her husband and family, especially her grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to Samuel Miller Memorial Cemetery Fund; c/o Steve Miller; 287 Trading Post Road, Glendale Springs, NC 28629.  The family respectfully request no food.

Thank you to Medi-Home Health and Hospice for their care and support during Lorene’s sickness and to the many friends and family who took time to call and visit.  A special thank you to Sue Severt, Pam Barker and Kat Dillard for the many hours spent taking care of the family and for their love and support.
