Louise Grace Severt Miller

Louise Grace Severt Miller, age 93, of West Jefferson, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Watauga Medical Center.

 Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 21, 2024 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Johnny Goodman. Burial will follow in the Claude Mash Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service at Ashelawn.

Louise is survived by her two sons, Ernest Miller and Mike Miller, both of West Jefferson; four sisters, Mary Butler of Randleman, Bessie Morgan of Highpoint, Betty Dawson of Thomasville, and Dorothy Beach of Millers Creek; and one brother, Don Severt of Lexington. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Christopher Miller, Thomas Miller and Jessica Miller, two great-grandchildren, Avin Miller and Adali Miller and several nieces and nephews.

Born in Charleston, WV, to the late Hilt and Mae Mash Severt, Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Miller; one brother, Worth Severt; and her sister, Gladys Dillard.

Louise was a dedicated Christian, known for her devotion to her home church, Beaver Creek Baptist Church, and her love of attending church revivals. She was admired for her cooking, particularly her famous biscuits, and was a hardworking homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, listening to gospel music, and spending time with her family.

Her kindness, faith, and the warmth of her home will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
