Lucy Lyalls

Lucy Nevada Vannoy Lyalls, age 88 of West Jefferson, NC, died Wednesday, March 29, 2006 a t the Margate Health & Rehab Center. Mrs. Lyalls was born September 14, 1917 in Ashe County to the late Will and Ell Mae Faw Vannoy. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Claude Lyalls and two daughters, Barbara Woodie and Bly Hedgecock. Mrs. Lyalls was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, cooking and sharing meals with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 1, 2006 at the Bethel Baptist Church. Rev. Jim Rash, Rev. Mark Harless and Elder E. W. Hooven will officiate. Burial will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 9:00 PM, Friday, March 31st at Badger Funeral Home. One son: Burl Lyalls and wife Zandra of West Jefferson, NC

Three daughters: Faye Messer and husband, Ed of West Jefferson, NC, Alene Cooke and husband Bill of Greensboro, NC and Pansy Goodman and husband Jack of Todd, NC

Three sisters: Faye Sharpe of King, NC, Jean Lewis of Bennettsville, SC and Opal Martin of Obetz, OH

17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, 4 step great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews
