Lucy Osbourne age 88 of Jefferson died Friday, September 27, 2019 at her residence. Lucy was born in Ashe County on Friday, June 12, 1931 to the late Ernest Hobson “Hob” and Lucy Mae Lyall Crepps. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Jean Sealy, Annetta Crepps Wright, brother, Michael Vernon Crepps and her husband, Norman Leroy Osbourne. She was a member of Glendale Springs Presbyterian Church. Lucy was a lover of animals especially feeding the birds, she also enjoyed quilting, gardening, reading, baking and was known for her famous Lemon Pound Cake.
Mrs. Osbourne is survived by: one daughter, Margaret Marze and husband Charlie of Jefferson, three grandchildren, Amy Blevins and husband John of Jefferson, Craig Marze and wife Ly Chou of Boone, Amanda Olivares and husband Ernesto of Jefferson, five great-grandchildren, Hannah Blevins, Noah Blevins, Nate Blevins, Reina Marze, Kyla Marze, one brother, Buddy Crepps and wife Pat of Crumpler, one sister, June Rogers of Lexington, KY; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Sidney Crunk. Burial will follow in Big Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to, Glendale Springs Presbyterian Church, or Wake Forest Care at Home, 126 Executive Dr., Suite 110, Wilkesboro, NC 28697.
