Lura Shoaf

Lura Edith Barr Shoaf, age 97 of Warrensville, died Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Shoaf was born June 10, 1906 in Ashe County. Her husband, John Shoaf, preceded her in death. Mrs. Shoaf was the oldest member of the Warrensville Baptist Church. She taught the children's Sunday school class at Warrensville Baptist Church for many years. She loved bird watching and quilting. She was a mother to the community, and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 12th at the Warrensville Baptist Church. Rev. Wayne Osborne will officiate. Burial will follow in the Jefferson Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 till 11:00 AM prior to the service.

11 nieces and nephews survive Mrs. Shoaf.
