Mr. Luther Dailey Campbell age 93, of Grassy Creek, NC completed his life journey on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Margate Health and Rehab in Jefferson, NC. Mr. Campbell was born on October 28, 1916 in Cove Creek, NC to William and Udora Mae Combs Campbell. Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by; son, Gerald Campbell, daughter, Betty Ann Robertson, brother, Ralph Campbell, brother, Clip Campbell, brother, Ned Campbell, brother, Charles Campbell, brother, Jackson Campbell, sister, Dare Eller, sister, Imogene McDuffy. Mr. Campbell was a member of Little Helton Baptist Church. Mr. Campbell was employed by Walker-Gordon Laboratory Company in New Jersey for 20 years. After moving to Ashe County he was employed at Thomasville/ Phoenix Chair Company. Following his retirement he enjoyed farming and gardening at his home in the Helton Community. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Doug Halsey. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.  Mr. Campbell is survived by: wife, Janell Campbell; sons - Dale Campbell and wife Cathy of Catlet, VA, William Campbell and wife Lynn of Harrisburg, NC, Randy Campbell and wife Pi Chu of Virginia Beach, VA, Earl Campbell of Millers Creek, NC; daughters - Selvagene Saunders and husband Donald of Jamesburg, NJ, Linda Ellsworth and husband Barry of Harrisburg, NC; sisters - Mattie Waddell and husband Roger of Whitehall, MD, Lilly VanHoy and husband Robert of Mouth of Wilson, VA, also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Flowers will be appreciated, or memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, c/o Lisa Bottomley, 187 Montview Drive, Sparta, NC. 28675.  You may send and view condolences to the family through our website www.ashelawn.com.
