Madelene Miller Roop

Mrs. Madelene Miller Roop, age 86 of Taylorsville, NC died on Monday, July 25, 2016 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC. Mrs. Roop was born on May 30, 1930 in Ashe County, NC to James Marion and Dora Shepherd Miller. Mrs. Roop was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Warren Roop, two daughters, Fredia Roop McAlpin and Linda Sue Roop, and a son, Douglas Warren Roop. Mrs. Roop attended Millerville Baptist Church. Her hobbies included working in her flowers, cooking, and dancing. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Minister Bryan Curley. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. Roop is survived by: Son, Paul (Evelyn) Roop of Taylorsville, Son, Larry Gene (Ruthy) Roop of Taylorsville, Son, Ronald Roop of Hiddenite, Daughter, Joyce (Jimmy) Reavis of Harmony, Daughter, Rita (Bill) Eldreth of Taylorsville, Daughter, Martha (Allen) Pruitt of North Wilkesboro, Sister, Goldie Byrd of Galax, VA, Brother, Carroll Miller of Lansing; also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
