Margaret Sue Combs, age 70, of Ashe County, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Wilkes Regional Medical Center. Born on April 13, 1954, to the late Grover Franklin and Lula Fay Oliver Combs, Margaret lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Vergie Elsie McNeil and a brother, Howard Elmo Combs.
Margaret's hobbies brought joy not only to her but also to those around her. She enjoyed coloring in her spare time and also had a great love for shopping and traveling, especially her cherished trips to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, created countless happy moments and stories to share. Even fishing was a favorite pastime in which she found peace and solace by the water, reeling in memories as much as she did fish.
Her four beloved dogs, Frisky, Buddy, Rocky, and Sally, were not just pets but family. They brought immense joy and companionship into her life, each holding a special place in her heart. Margaret was also known for growing the most beautiful flowers that brightened her home and delighted visitors.
Mrs. Combs is survived by her children, Danna Sue Davis (Korie) of Wilkesboro, Wayne Anthony Davis (Rebecca) of North Wilkesboro and Tammy Bobbitt (Keith) of Purlear, sister, Barbara Baker as well as 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 2:00pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Lloyd Day. Burial will follow in the Poe Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm one hour prior to the service.
Flowers will be accepted.
Margaret's legacy is one of kindness, warmth, and a zest for life. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she has departed from this world, her memory will forever bloom in our hearts.
