Martin Odell Benfield

Mr. Martin Odell Benfield, age 78, of Taylorsville, NC died on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at his home. Mr. Benfield was born on March 30, 1935 in Iredell County, NC to Garland William and Clara Fox Benfield. Mr. Benfield was preceded in death by his parents and all his siblings. He was a veteran with the Army National Guard. Mr. Benfield worked in assembly at a furniture manufacturer.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Eddie Lewis. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Benfield is survived by: Wife, Pauline Phillips Benfield, Daughter, Debbie Benfield of Hickory, Daughter, Ginger Wakefield of Hickory, Stepdaughter, Lisa Dickinson of Wilkesboro, Stepdaughter, Holly Lidford of Hickory, Stepson, Gary Benfield of Hickory; also surviving are five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, a number of great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be appreciated, or memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
