Mary Belle (Blevins) Mahaffey

Mary Belle Blevins Mahaffey, age 89 of Lansing, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Mahaffey was born on April 24, 1931 in Ashe County to Freeman and Minnie Baldwin Blevins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Worth Mahaffey; two sons, Ricky Mahaffey and Terry Mahaffey; son-in-law, John Bowers; grandson, Jason Lee Mahaffey; and all her brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Mahaffey liked to read and study her Bible. She was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. She retired from Thomasville Furniture and was a good cook.

Mrs. Mahaffey is survived by:  two daughters, June Bowers of Crumpler and Virginia Miller of Lansing; one son, Jerry Mahaffey of Hayes; also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 3, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Clark Cemetery by Rev. Lonnie Carpenter.

The family requests that masks be worn at the service and please practice social distancing.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family in care of June Bowers, 5728 Old Highway 16, Crumpler, NC 28617.
