Mary Edith Houck

Mary Edith Houck, age 62, of Sparta, NC died on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Houck was born on May 4, 1951 in Ashe County, NC, to the late Wave Quinton and Blanche Roop Miller. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Houck was preceded in death by an infant child, Stacey. She was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed attending church and was a friend to everyone.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Charlie Bennett and Minister Danny Miller. Burial will follow in the Pennington Cemetery in Lansing.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. Houck is survived by: Husband, Gary Dean Houck; Son, Kevin Houck and wife Morgan of Sparta; Daughter, Sherry Reid and husband Rob of Wilkesboro; Brother, Rex Miller of Lansing, Brother, Mac Miller of Lansing, Brother, Richard Miller of Lansing; Sister, Marie Calloway of Jefferson, Sister, Thelma Howell of West Jefferson; also surviving are several nieces and nephews and many special friends.
