Mary Mahaffey

View video tribute. Mrs. Mary Nell Elliott Mahaffey age 74, of Lansing, North Carolina died on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the Margate Health and Rehab Center in Jefferson, NC. Mrs. Mahaffey was born on August 3, 1935 in Ashe County to Clairance and Annie Eller Elliott. Mrs. Mahaffey was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Mahaffey and sisters Eda Mae Shatley and Vielea Shepherd. Mrs. Mahaffey loved quilting and crocheting.  She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Joey McClure, Rev. Fred Richardson and Rev. Elliott Osowitt. Burial will follow in Stagg Creek Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Badger Funeral Home. Mrs. Mahaffey is survived by: One daughter: Debbie Wyatt and husband Ray of West Jefferson, NC Four sisters: Janice Elliott of Warrensville, NC, Betty Powers and husband Pete of Lansing, NC,  Winona Poe and husband Carl of Jefferson, NC and Juanita Walton and husband Howard of North Wilkesboro, NC One grandson: Greg Jones, Two great grandchildren:  Hailey Jones and Dylan Dittrich, several nieces and nephews.
