Mrs. Mary Ashley McCormick age 88, of Warrensville, died on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Margate Health and Rehab Center. Mrs. McCormick was born on August 21, 1926 in Warrensville, NC to Robert and Nell Boyd Ashley. Mrs. McCormick was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Matthew McCormick, and brother, Ralph Ashley. Mrs. McCormick retired from Sprague Electric after 35 plus years of service. Mary was known for her baking abilities, especially her famous pound cakes. She was a member of Warrensville United Methodist Church. Mrs. McCormick also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Margaret Wannamacher. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Monday, March 16, 2015 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
Mrs. McCormick is survived by: Son, Mike McCormick and wife Stephanie McCormick of New Kensington, PA, three granddaughters, Brittany McCormick, Tiffany McCormick, Jennifer McCormick, two great-grandsons, Conner Medley, Matthew Stone, several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice or flowers will be accepted.
