Mary Gail (Bare) McCraw

Mary Gail Bare McCraw, age 58 of West Jefferson, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mrs. McCraw was born on Wednesday, September 5, 1962 in Ashe County, North Carolina to the late William Harold and Mary Alice Billings Bare. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Dyon McCraw.

Mrs. McCraw graduated from Ashe Central High School and received the honor to serve as a page to Governor Jim Hunt.  She was also captain of the cheerleading squad.  She was a wonderful, strong single mother to two children. Mary was a loving grandmother who was always honest and had a great sense of humor.

She is survived by, sons, Adam and wife Sara McCraw and Casey McCraw and fiancé De’Anna Holdaway both of West Jefferson,  b rothers, Dwayne Bare of Crumpler and Steve Bare of Laurel Springs, half-brother,  Ronnie Bare, half-sister, Betty Bare, grandchildren, Raiden, Kylie, Lucas, Kya and Rylan McCraw.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Roans Creek Cemetery by Rev. Richard Bare.

Memorial contributions  may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses, in care of Badger Funeral Home; 300 E. Main St. West Jefferson, NC 28694.
