Mary Elizabeth "Beth" (Cox) Walker

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Cox Walker, age 54 of Crumpler, died on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Walker was born on August 22, 1963 in Ashe County to Elsworth Clinton Cox and Mary Jane Kelly Cox. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Buddy Cox. Mrs. Walker loved animals and spending time with her family. She never met a stranger and was always friendly to everyone. Her positive attitude was a strength to her family.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. Walker is survived by:  husband, Jerry Walker; two sons, Gerald Clinton “B.J.” Walker, and Kevin Drew Burchette, both of Crumpler; two sisters, Barbara “Barbie” Preece of Lenoir and Deborah Cox of West Jefferson; 3 grandchildren, Kiana, Joshua, and Micha; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
