Mary Lou (Goodman) Kincaid

Mary Lou Goodman Kincaid, age 83, of Fleetwood, NC, passed away on July 22, 2022 at her home. Born in Ashe County, NC, she was the daughter of Paul Richard and Ruth Ellean (Hardin) Goodman. After the death of her mother when Mary Lou was an infant, she was raised by her second mother Rosalie Goodman. She was a 1957 graduate of Beaver Creek High School and later worked at various places including BATA Shoe Company, Peerless, Hanes, Shadowline, Ashe County Department of Social Services, and Carroll Leather Goods. She was a member of Bald Mountain Baptist Church. She was a wonderful wife and mother, but her most cherished role was that of a doting “Mamaw” and “Nana”. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren by cooking for and playing with them.

Mrs. Kincaid was preceded in death by a sister, Reba Goodman Cox, of Havre de Grace, MD.

Mrs. Kincaid is survived by her husband of 63 years, Nelson Kincaid, her children, Carmen Wilson and husband, Jim, of Fleetwood, Jason B. Kincaid and wife, Dana, of Garner; siblings, Kenneth B. Goodman, Lawrence R. Goodman, Joan Carol Howell all of Fleetwood, NC, Linda Lee Eller of Dumfries, Virginia, Mark Robert Goodman of Statesville, NC; four grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 11:00 am at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens by Rev. Lawrence Goodman and Rev. John Elledge.
