Mrs. Maxine Latham Shatley, age 64 of Crumpler, NC died on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Shatley was born on March 14, 1951 in Ashe County to the late Ennis Pell and Pauline Shepherd Latham. Mrs. Shatley began her secretarial career at Ashe Central High School and retired from Ashe County Middle School. She had a special love for the students at the schools. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, photography, and spending time with her dogs. She was a great person to be around and a friend to all she met. She will be missed.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Lonnie Jones and Chaplain Nancy Walton. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
Mrs. Shatley is survived by: Husband, Cecil Wayne Shatley, Son, Cameron Shatley of West Jefferson, Grandchild, Morgan Shatley, Brother, James Latham and wife Joyce of Crumpler, Brother, Steve Latham of Virginia, Sister, Charlotte Lewis of Todd; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
