Michelle Gabrielle Griffin Evans, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at her home. Born on September 29, 1974, in Watauga, North Carolina, Michelle lived a life defined by her unwavering spirit and kindness. She was preceded in death by a sister, Chrissy Griffin, step-father, Gwen Denny and grandmother, Muriel Griffin.
Her passion for the open road was evident in her love for riding motorcycles, a pursuit that brought her immense joy and freedom. Michelle's adventurous soul fed her desire for traveling, cherishing every moment spent discovering new places and embracing the beauty of the world. The beach held a special place in her heart, where many memories were made.
Above all, Michelle cherished her role as a mother to her four children, her pride and joy. Her dedication to them was unparalleled, and she instilled in them the values of love, compassion, and resilience.
As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Michelle found fulfillment in caring for others. Her selflessness knew no bounds, always going out of her way to lend a helping hand and being a beacon of light in the lives of those she cared for. Her commitment to her work mirrored her commitment to spreading positivity and kindness wherever she went.
Despite facing illness, Michelle's unwavering strength and determination never faltered. Her resilience was an inspiration to all who knew her, embodying her mantra, "Find the peace in the chaos."
Michelle's faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she found solace and community as a cherished member of Laurel Springs Baptist Church. Her belief in finding peace amidst life's trials was a testament to her unwavering spirit and determination.
Michelle Evans leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and adventure. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, past colleagues, patients, church family and all whose lives she touched with her kindness and unwavering positivity. Though she may no longer be with us, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she inspired.
Mrs. Evans is survived by her husband, Timothy Evans, four children, Summer Shay Griffin (Brian Grimes) of Vilas, Samantha Dawn Stikes of Millers Creek, Kimberly Storm Evans of the home and Timothy Michael Evans (Shelby) of Todd, her parents, Robert Norman Griffin, and Robin Ritter Dollar of Jefferson, grandmother, Darlene Myers of Jefferson, brother, Aaron Griffin of Boone, step-brother, Travis Denny of Jefferson, mother and father-in-law, Robert and Karen Fender of Laurel Springs, sister-in-law, Crystal Evans of Sparta, and brother-in-law, Michael Evans of Laurel Springs. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Michelle was looking forward to becoming a grandmother with her first grandchild on the way. She will also be missed by her dog, Coco and her cat, Keekee.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at 2:00pm at Laurel Springs Baptist Church by Rev. Anthony Silvers and Rev. Travis Suits to celebrate the remarkable life of Michelle Evans.
Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses in care of Badger Funeral Home; 300 E. Main Street, West Jefferson, NC 28694.
