Mr. Charles Vernon Fletcher

Mr. Charles Vernon Fletcher age 83, of West Jefferson, NC died Monday, November 25, 2013 at his home. Mr. Fletcher was born May 14, 1930 in Columbus, OH to Greely and Naomi Taylor Fletcher. Mr. Fletcher was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Cecil Fletcher, Robert Fletcher and one sister, Louise Hartzog. Mr. Fletcher served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was a supervisor in the automotive industry.

Mrs. Nancy Jo Beshears Fletcher age 81, of West Jefferson, NC died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Fletcher was born September 19, 1932 in Wilkes County, NC to Martin Alonzo and Pearl Calloway Beshears. Mrs. Fletcher was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles Vernon Fletcher, one brother, Martin Alonzo Beshears Jr. and one sister, Hazel Marie Parsons. She worked as a physical therapist aide.

Both Mr. & Mrs. Fletcher were members of Old Fields Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Old Fields Baptist Church by Rev. Jack Miller. Burial will follow in the Old Fields Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites for Mr. Fletcher. The family will receive friends from 12:45 - 1:45 PM prior to the service.

Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher is survived by: three daughters - Sandra Shanaman of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Sherry Parsons of Troy, MI and Vicki Tompkins of West Jefferson, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Fletcher is also survived by: three sisters - Denton McNeill and Francis Cheek both of West Jefferson and Bernice Eller of Albemarle and one brother - Ritz Beshears of Purlear.
