Mr. Junior Lee Osborne age 87, of Creston, NC died on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Westwood Hills Nursing & Rehab Center in Wilkesboro, NC. Mr. Osborne was born January 14, 1926 in Ashe County to George and Rhoda Roten Osborne. Mr. Osborne was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sisters, Clarence, Rae, Maggie, Faye, Donie and Dorothy. Mr. Osborne enjoyed walking and visiting neighbors. He attended Gillespie Community Church. The family sends a special thank you to April Weaver and Christy at Ashe Assisted Living.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 3, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Gillespie Community Church by Rev. Jim Francis and Rev. Mitchell Mash. Burial will follow in Osborne Roten Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm Sunday prior to the service at Gillespie Community Church.
Mr. Osborne is survived by: Five sons, Robert Carl Osborne of Jefferson, Darrell Osborne, Harold Osborne and Randy Osborne all of Creston and Richard Osborne of Wilkesboro, two daughters, Ruby Pennington of Lansing and Margaret Osborne of Creston, two sisters, Pearl Flanagan of Hickory and Beryl Berry of Richmond, VA also surviving are several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
