Mark fought a rough and painful battle with cancer for the past six months, and slipped away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, October 4th. Mark grew up in Walkertown, NC with an older brother, Jimmy, and younger brother Michael. They loved to swim and fish in the pond out back. Several family members knew Mark as Grandma's favorite grandson. He attended Carver High School through his junior year, but graduated from North Davidson High School, class of '87. Mark spent many years working at John Deere-Hitachi in Kernersville, and more recently worked with a great group of guys at LJM Machine Company. Anyone that knew Mark would tell you that he was a fun, outgoing, kinda loud guy who enjoyed being around people, and was always on the go. Mark inherited his dad's handyman skills, and could build just about anything. He loved going fishing, and knew all of the best spots, and he also had a collection of gear to be envied. He liked to collect antiques, always looking for a deal covered in a little dust. Mark had a very green thumb, and good taste in plants; one of his favorites was Japanese Maple Trees. More than any of this, Mark loved his family, but none as much as his children, Lauren, Bryce, and stepson Brandon. His "babies" as he'd call them were his best accomplishment, and what he was most proud of. Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Janis Jones, as well as both his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by father, W. Glenn Jones, brothers Jim Jones (wife Tracy) and Michael Jones (wife BreAnne), children Lauren Jones and Bryce Jones, several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many other loving family and friends.
