Mr. Meredith Ballou

Mr. Meredith Ballou age 79 of Jefferson died Friday, August 25, 2017 at Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital. Mr. Ballou was born in Ashe County, NC to, Lionel Uriah and Ruby Grace Stuart Ballou. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Shelba Jean Neaves Ballou. He was a member of Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church, serving in several capacities including the Building and Grounds Committee, Sunday School Teacher and one of the church Trustees. Mr. Ballou was also a member of the Jefferson Camp of the Gideon's International. He loved his family and friends and was always a help to others.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Healing Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am -1:00 pm prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Ballou is survived by: one daughter, Cathy Ballou of Winston-Salem, one son, Rick Ballou and wife Amy of Jefferson, one brother, Monte Ballou and wife Brenda of Jefferson, five grandchildren: Emily Ballou Anderson and husband Dustin, Ann Marie Ballou,  Haleigh Hogg, Brooke Hogg & Hunter Hogg all of Jefferson, NC; three great- grandchildren, Troy Anderson, Meredith Paige Anderson, Jeremiah Luke Anderson, sister in-law, Doris Neaves of Kernersville, one niece, Donna Cottrell and husband John of Belews Creek, two nephews: Ken Neaves and wife Lisa of Greensboro, & Monte Ballou II and wife Angela of West Jefferson,  also survive.
