Mrs Ann Graham Witherspoon Goss

Mrs. Ann Graham Witherspoon Goss age 76, of Jefferson, died on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Goss was born on May 13, 1939 in Ashe County to the late James Gordon and Mary Grace Witherspoon. Mrs. Goss was an avid reader; she enjoyed baking, sewing (especially smocking), politics and banana splits. She was a very creative and artistic person who never met a stranger. Ann was an active member of Mount Paddy Church and her community; becoming an adoptive mother and grandmother to many people. Mrs. Goss served as the first female chairperson for the Ashe County Democrat Party in the mid 1980's. Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all and will be dearly missed.

The family would like to thank, Dr. Melinda Wonsick, Dr. Vickie Ingledue, Shelia Kennedy and Medi Home Hospice for their passionate care they gave for Ann.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Mount Paddy Church by Rev. Tim Roten and Rev. Carl Witherspoon. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Mount Paddy Church.

Mrs. Goss is survived by: husband, Harold Dean Goss, her daughter, Kim Goss Houck of Fleetwood, her son, Jeff Goss and wife Robin of Laurel Springs, and daughter, Jaime Bledsoe and husband, Matthew of Fleetwood, and brother in-law (who Ann raised as a son), Steve Goss of Boone. In addition, she is survived by three brothers, Martin Witherspoon of Jefferson, Troy Witherspoon of Salisbury, Rev. Carl Ray Witherspoon of Jefferson, and two sisters, Cloyie Dolinger of Jefferson and Mary Hess of West Jefferson. Also included are five grandchildren, Schuylar and Joseph Houck, Mattlyn and Mallory Bledsoe, Ethan Ashley, and adopted grandchildren, Anna Martin, Allison Wright, Eli Bledsoe along with numerous nieces and nephews.
