Mrs. Deborah S. Hoosier age 59, of Lansing, died Friday, April 29, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Hoosier was born March 24, 1957 in Jefferson, NC to Darrell and Eva Shepherd. Mrs. Hoosier was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Allen Hoosier.
Debbie was a one of a kind lady who loved the Lord and living life with a purpose and joy. She was a phenomenal cook who opened her table and home up to anyone in need. She loved her children and grandchildren fiercely and her little dog Danny Boy. She was also an avid hunter, enjoying deer hunting and bow fishing with Arthur, her beloved friend and confidant of 15 years. She was the peacemaker of a large family and made it her purpose to always bring people together. Debbie was an intelligent, hard-working woman in everything she did. She dedicated 41 years of her life to the manufacturing industry, working for Hanes, Sara Lee, Leviton, and finally Gates Rubber Company. Any day you could drive by and find her working in the garden and putting up canned goods for the year and sharing with the community. She was a special person and touched many lives. A quote from someone she loved describes her best: "A few times in this life we are given a few chances to meet a person that truly loves others more than themselves."
