Mrs. Delia Sue Atwood Sheets

Mrs. Delia Sue Atwood Sheets age 89, of Jefferson died on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Margate Health and Rehab Center. Mrs. Sheets was born on December 15, 1926 in Ashe County to Wilburn and Maggie Hoppers Atwood. Mrs. Sheets was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edd Sheets, two sisters, Marie Reeves, Ruby Darnell, two great-grandsons, Trent Michael Shepherd and Jaxon Heath Miller. Mrs. Sheets was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church. She was talented with her hands, quilting, crocheting, working puzzles and later in life she liked to color. She especially loved spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Lloyd Day. Entombment will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum of Prayer. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, April 11, 2016 at Badger Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sheets is survived by: one son, Donnie Sheets of Jefferson, four daughters, Shirley June Miller & husband, Wayne, Wanda Mash & husband, Roy, Linda Hale & husband, Bob, Cynthia Severt & husband, Darrell all of Jefferson, two sisters, Virginia Osborne of Hickory, Josephine Reeves of Laurel Springs; also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
