Faye Ola Smith Miller, 90, of Springview Assisted Living, formerly of 412 Kernodle Drive in Burlington went home to be with our Lord and Savior on April 7th. Her final hours were spent with her family and her pastor, Howard Thompson. Faye was preceded in death by her Parents Washington Cephus Smith and mother Minnie South Smith, husband Charles Smith Miller, a daughter in law, Brenda Reynolds Miller and brothers Burl Smith, Bryan Smith, Alfred Smith.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2:00 pm at Claude Mash Cemetery by Rev. Lloyd Day.
Faye is survived by her sons John L Miller and wife Cheryl of Durham, NC, Charles S Smith of Raleigh, Wayne C Miller and wife Cathy of Greensboro, Zane M Miller and wife Donna of Haw River and Dane S Miller and fiance' Carla of Burlington, NC. She has 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great- great-grandchild. She is also survived by a sister, Evelyn Euliss and brother Washington Smith, Jr of Burlington and many nieces and nephews.
Faye was a member of the Burlington Writers Club and loved writing poetry. She won an award for her poetry and traveled to New York City to be recognized for the winning poem. Faye was a member of Round Knob Baptist Church in Ashe County and attended the Burlington Assembly of God for over 40 years.
