Josephine had a great appreciation for art and was an active artist in the Elizabeth City art community in the early seventies. She painted in her studio for years and was a member of the "Studio Gallery" and cared deeply about the art community as a whole. Josephine enjoyed music of all genres, and played piano regularly through the years. She loved her garden and included its harvest in her cooking. Josephine was an interior designer where she left her distinct mark in design in many Elizabeth City homes and businesses and as well as in Galax, VA where she resided with husband Henry for twenty plus years. She was worldly yet at times a homebody. Josephine, though typically very reserved, loved to laugh and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was beautiful inside and out, and we, her family, will miss her immensely. Per her wishes she will be cremated and her family will disperse her ashes in Galax, VA, her happy home for many years.
