Mr. Thomas Lee Hughes

Mr. Thomas Lee Hughes age 65, of West Jefferson, died Monday, May 13, 2013 at Watauga Medical Center. Mr. Hughes was born May 1, 1948 in Ashe County to William Lee and Lola Skaggs Hughes. Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by his parents. He loved to golf and enjoyed walking near his home. He was a member of First Baptist Church and served as an usher.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in West Jefferson by Rev. Ken Morris & Rev. Michael Lea. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday prior to the service.

Mr. Hughes is survived by: His wife, Barbara Hughes, two daughters, Kathryn Hughes of Winston-Salem & Carol Robinson of Raleigh, two sisters, Dot Viola of Winston-Salem & Nancy Rider of Charlotte, 1 brother, Ronnie Hughes of Laurel Springs, caregiver, Randy Elliott also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
