Mr. Tracy Cook Lemly age 78, of Fleetwood, died on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Lemly was born on February 10, 1938 in Ashe County to Harris H. and Annie Cook Lemly. Mr. Lemly was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Norman, Townly, Ithel, Richard Lemly, five sisters, Ruth Greene, Edwina Kincaid, Lorene Edwards, Wilma Williams, Ola Belle Edwards and his wife, Elizabeth Lemly. Mr. Lemly was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and was active in their men's club. He was a veteran of the US Army and retired from the Army National Guard, serving Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Tracy also was a member of Ashe Masonic Lodge of A.F.A.M # 594 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Bethany United Methodist Church by Rev. Owen Peeler. Inurnment will follow in Bethany United Methodist Church Columbarium with Masonic and Military Rites. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 pm on Wednesday prior to the service in the fellowship hall.
Mr. Lemly is survived by: son, David Tracy Lemly and wife JoAnn of San Diego, CA, daughter, Allison Lemly Weaver and husband Rick of Fleetwood, four grandchildren, Marina Lemly, Zachary Lemly, Rachel Weaver, Joshua Weaver, brother, Clayton Lemly of West Jefferson and sister, Ailene Young of West Jefferson. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
