Myrtle (Clark) May

Myrtle Clark May, age 93 of West Jefferson, died Monday, November 4, 2019 at Ashe Assisted Living.  Mrs. May was born March 19, 1926 in Ashe County to the late Lester and Lura Goss Clark.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Letcher May.  Myrtle was a graduate of Lansing High School.  She retired from Sprague Electric after 27 years of service.  She was a member of Mt. Jefferson Presbyterian Church and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and church family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Mt. Jefferson Presbyterian Church by Rev. Will Hayward.  Burial will follow in the Jefferson Cemetery. Mrs. May will lie in state from 1 -2 PM prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. May is survived by, sons, Johnny May of Mississippi, Rick May of West Jefferson, Keith May of Jefferson and Letcher May Jr. of Crumpler, brothers, Goss Clark of West Jefferson and Kermit Clark of Lansing, grandchildren, April Mullis, William May, Deanna May and Braidy May, great-grandchildren, Samuel Mullis and Kyra Mullis, several nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to Mt. Jefferson Presbyterian Church.
