Myrtle Jane Patrick Taylor, age 95, of Randleman, NC died early Sunday morning, May 9, 2010 (Mother's Day). She was born on October 15, 1914 in Ashe County, NC to the late John and Louise Hodge Patrick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Eli J. Taylor, her son Walter Bruce Taylor, a grandson Walter Bruce Taylor II, and all her brothers and sisters. She was a long-time resident of Radford, VA and Siler City, NC. She was a devoted wife and mother, and always had a strong faith in her Lord. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel in Jefferson, NC by Minister Larry McNair. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm prior to the service at Ashelawn. Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Lisa Bottomley, 87 Montview Drive, Sparta, NC 28675 or the American Heart Association, c/o June Weaver, P.O. Box 791, Jefferson, NC 28640. Surviving are two sons - Norman Taylor of Siler City, NC and Duane Taylor and wife, Debra of Blacksburg, VA; two daughters - Joanne Johnson of Randleman, NC and Helen McNair and husband Larry of Roanoke, VA; also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
