Nancy Lee (Bare) Pugh

Nancy Lee Bare Pugh, age 78 of Crumpler passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.  Nancy was born on Wednesday December 31, 1941 in Ashe County, North Carolina to the late Larry Lee and Edith Lorene Howell Bare.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her son, Michael "Mickey" Pugh, sister, Lucille McVey, brother-in-law J.C. Barker and sister-in-law Nellie Teaster Bare.  Nancy enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens, canning, cooking and cleaning.  She was a dedicated member of Healing Springs Baptist church and she loved her church family very much.  She always looked forward to spending time with her family and talking with friends.

Mrs. Pugh is survived by her loving husband, Robert "Bob" Pugh, daughter, Jennifer Blevins and husband Robbie of West Jefferson, two sisters, Betty Barker and Sandy McGinnis and husband John both of Jefferson, brother, Jerry Bare and wife Loretta of Jefferson, brother-in-law, Edward McVey of Jefferson, two granddaughters Autumn Huffman and Kristen Huffman both of Fleetwood, great-granddaughter, Kahlari Huffman and several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 14, 2020 at 1:00pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. David Blackburn and Rev. Kevin Jones.  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00-8:00pm at Ashelawn.

Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens by Rev. Herb Parunak.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Dickson Family Cemetery in care of Sandy McGinnis at 4223 US. Highway 221 N. Jefferson, NC 28640.
