Norette (Owen) Phipps Brinegar

Norette Owen Phipps Brinegar age 90 of Crumpler died Saturday, March 3, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Brinegar was born in Crumpler on Sunday, February 19, 1928 to Luther and Myrtie Francis Owen. Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Worth Phipps, her second husband, Robert Brinegar, brothers, Glee Owen, Artie Owen, Reeves Owen, Pozy Owen, sisters, Erie Owen, Ethel Stuart, Eula Hamby, Paralee Baldwin, daughter in-law, Nancy Phipps and a son, Val Phipps. She was a member of Healing Springs Baptist Church.

Mrs. Brinegar is survived by, three sons, Danny Phipps and wife Janet, Shannon Phipps, and Heath Phipps and wife Jill all of Crumpler, foster daughter, Lori Lee Wood and husband Corey of Purlear, daughter in-law, Ellen Phipps of West Jefferson, three sisters, Kada McNeill of Jefferson, Floye Smith of Florida, and Jean Testerman of Crumpler,  special niece and caregiver, Oretta Blevins of Lansing, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00am at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Kevin Jones and Rev. David Blackburn. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
