Norma Lee Jones Lewis

Norma Lee Lewis, age 80 of Crumpler passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. 

Norma was born July 10, 1943 in Ashe County to the late William Henry Jones and Esther Marie Graybeal Jones. Including her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Burl Lewis, brother, Bob Graybeal, sister-in-law, Verda Graybeal, and a nephew, Timothy Graybeal.

Norma was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible with a warm cup of coffee, watching for red birds out the window and drinking strawberry milkshakes.

She loved being with her family, laughing and telling stories. Some of her most cherished moments were spent with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Roark (Rex) of Creston; son, Randy Lewis of Crumpler; two granddaughters, Jessica Finley (Rock) of Jefferson and Ashley Emerson (Ben) of Creston; six great-grandchildren, Blakely Miller, Kaiden Miller, Weston Emerson, Lukas Finley, Gatlin Emerson, and brand new baby girl, Benleigh Emerson, that we wished she could have met.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at 2:00pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Joey McClure.  Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm one hour prior to the service.

The family respectfully requests no food please. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses, in care of Ashelawn Memorial Chapel, 3470 U.S. Highway 221 North, Jefferson, NC 28640.
