Norma Jean (Phillips) Rupard

Norma Jean Phillips Rupard age 94 of Jefferson passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.  Mrs. Rupard was born on August 18, 1928 in Ashe County, North Carolina to the late Thomas Lester and Ethel Phillips Eldreth.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, William Rupard, two brothers, Hicks Blevins and Donald Rupard and a grandson, Michael Eldreth.

Norma retired from Thomasville Furniture.  She volunteered as a foster grandparent and was also a senior companion.  Mrs. Rupard was a member of Sabbath Home Baptist Church.  She loved helping others and cooking for her family.

Mrs. Rupard is survived by one son, Ronnie Rupard of Jefferson, three daughters, Joy McClure (Jack), Karen Dillard (Walter) and Shelia Hartzog all of Jefferson, seven grandchildren, Keith McClure (Gina) of Oklahoma, Melissa Severt of Whitetop, VA, Kurt McClure and Stephanie of West Jefferson, Trevor Hartzog of Jefferson, Devon Rupard of West Jefferson, Makayla Hartzog of Mooresville and Luke Rupard of Jefferson, nine great-grandchildren, Breanna Severt, Savannah Phillips, Mallorie McClure, Matthew McClure, Chandler Eldreth and Vivian Stewart, step-great-grandchildren, Korey Calhoun, Kendall Calhoun and Shelby Yarborough, two great-great-grandchildren, Destiny Javadi and Michael Phillips and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Larry Shepherd and Rev. Lawrence Goodman.  Private family burial will follow in the Eldreth Ham Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm one hour prior to the service.

The family will be meeting at the home place from 10:00am-6:00pm daily; 122 Faw Roland St. Jefferson, NC 28640.
