Norwood Godwin Jones Jr.

Norwood Godwin Jones Jr., age 63 of Fleetwood, died Sunday, July 12, 2020.  Mr. Jones was born September 4, 1956 in Wake County to the late Norwood Godwin Jones Sr. and Ruth Yates Jones.  Mr. Jones loved spending time in the mountains, in his younger days he liked to duck hunt and camp.  He was a member of Old Fields Baptist Church where he enjoyed spending time with his church family.  He was also a leader in his Bible study group in Raleigh, NC.  He was an avid football fan and loved pulling for Appalachian State University.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Old Fields Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Larry Powers. Due to current COVID restrictions and the executive order from Governor Cooper, the family respectfully request that family and friends refrain from embracing or shaking hands during these services.

Mr. Jones is survived by, his wife, Darlene Jones, sons, Norwood Godwin Jones III and wife Armida and Matthew Brett Jones both of Smithfield, daughter, Emily Elizabeth Jones of Charlotte, sister, Paula Narron of Smithfield and brother, Stephen Jones of Raleigh.   Two grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
