Opal (Koontz) Eldreth

Opal Koontz Eldreth, age 95 of West Jefferson, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at her home. Mrs. Eldreth was born in Ashe County to the late Wiley Columbus and Mattie Barker Koontz. Including her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Mabel Colvard and her husband, Walter Hobson Eldreth. Opal was a member of Bald Mountain Baptist Church and was a faithful reader of the Bible.

She is survived  by her sister-in-law, Mannon Eldreth of WJ, brother-in-law, Charles and wife Patricia Eldreth of WJ, special friends, Gary and Diane Roark of WJ and special cousin, Ann and Louis Burge of Gibsonville,  NC.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 2:00pm at Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Jefferson City Cemetery. Mrs. Eldreth will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
